Just shows you how subtle the paradigm really is. Affects our language even on "innocent" concepts - and that, of course, affects our behavior.

Oh well ... I shall plead no contest in this matter and will not begrudge the proper paradigm that you did present ... "ROR" ... I like it .... very much .... and it was more what I had in mind!

At times you are quite the sharp tool in the shed brother Skip!

Think ROR - return on relationship. It's not reduction to a value-based commodity.

Skip ... wonderful message. In the same respects this is why Israel was commanded and forewarned to "keep" Torah ... to "keep" Shabbat ... and so forth.

It is all about "ECHAD" being one and in unity with ELOHIM! This is why Torah is so broad ... dealing with G_DLY relationships, personal relationships, communal relationships, Earthly relationships and so forth. At the end of the day Torah is less about "activities" and more about "relationships". Yet the relationships need to be outwardly defined in terms of temporal actions within a Biblical Hebraic context and not abstracted for mental absorption. We are people and need tactical examples to "show us the way"!

This is a really, really cool message brother Skip .... when Yeshua abides in us and we treat our neighbor as our self .... we treat our neighbor as Yeshua treats us .... with no expectation of personal return on investment (ROI) .... it is all about "ROI" for ELOHIM and The Kingdom!

Giving one's self up for the greater good! Praise ELOHIM for mercy and grace ... Praise Yeshua!

You really do love to drive home the importance and significance of the text within Genesis! :)

As for ... brother Carl's comment ... "heart attitude" ... yes it would be interesting to hear about and discuss such an interesting Hebraic convention!

--Shamar is about careful attention, preservation, watchfulness and guardianship.--

busy day ahead!.. (lol!!). This reminds me of 1 Peter 5.8 "Be clear-minded and alert".

I know you are busy preparing for your journey "cross the big pond", but I would love to hear from you (at some point, if you are able) concerning "kavannah". A close cousin of "shamar?"
