Dear Friends,
I thought I might add just a comment or two about what I have been doing and what has been happening with At God’s Table. As we start into the holiday season, you might like to know something more about what you ALL have done this year.
First, At God’s Table has been responsible for: travel expenses for ministers (not me), help with food budgets, roof construction, foreclosure prevention, gifts to ministries, aid to homeless, food for street people, payments to hospitals, road work, housing, house building, employment counseling, financial planning, chiropractic services, help with elderly care, counseling for the bereaved, scholarships for education, work for the unemployed, comfort and aid to the sick, hundreds of prayers, emergency funds and many other personal acts of love. YOU MADE ALL OF THIS POSSIBLE. It is my honor to be witness to the real Christian hallmark of love for each other. I am so proud of all of you, and so happy to know you.
I have never taken a salary from At God’s Table, but I may need to now. I hope you won’t feel upset about this. I have tried to use the funds for the community but it looks like I will need money to pay college bills.
Second (and far less important), I have completed 1 book (Jesus Said To Her) and have half of 2 others (The Perfect Enemy and The Wrong Normal). Hopefully, they will be done soon. Then we face the publication problems. Any ideas?
Third, I have taught, lectured, ministered and written for hundreds this year. What a joy it was. Your support made this possible too. Thank you. Hopefully we can do more in the coming year. I wish I could personally visit each one of you. Maybe we should have a family picnic.
And last, I went to Israel with 16 of you. Thank you!
As you think about 2010, please remember what we did together. It is the mark of a true community. I love each of you. You made my year a delight.
