Prayer Request
Today I got a request from one of our community. His wife is demanding a divorce without biblical grounds (from Matthew). He does not want this and is trying to work through it. There are children. He has asked for prayer about the up-coming legal confrontation. Yeshua makes it very clear that marriage is glued together purposeful living. Let’s support our brother as he tries to be faithful to that purpose.
I’ll also pray that the thing that has convinced her that it’s better, (whatever that is) is revealed for what it is.
My heart breaks to read of this. I do not know the situation or circumstances, and although they do matter, divorce is definitely a hardship for all parties involved, irregardless. Unofrtunately, the innocent are the ones who suffer the greatest.
Having been a divorce statistic myself, my greatest pain was watching my daughter grow up with a father self absorbed and a mother working 60+hours trying to give her everything I thought she needed. When in essence, I should have worked harder at working through all the confusion and doing deeds of righteousness rather than just going to church and riding my religious high horse and attempting to guilt him into wanting to “live right”. Such arrogance from my ignorance! If I had only known then what I am learning now, maybe a different outcome would have resulted.
May the will of the Father be done in all the lives involved. May the shalom of YHWH rest upon you and your family.
It’s impossible to comment because we don’t know why she wants a divorce. We don’t know anything about the husband or the wife. Is one of them a psychopath? (Non-violent one). It’s a huge problem these days. Unidentified brain damage. This post is from 2011. Update?

Dr. Fallon found out that he had the mind of a psychopath. ‘The Psychopath Inside’ is a talk and book he has explaining how he found out. I recommend studying this subject. Dr. Hare sums it up like this: no conscience. Sadly to say, being married to one or working with one or dealing with one is extremely stressful. It’s a subject that is certainly not understood or even recognized as being a problem affecting all of us but should be. Brain damage is common.
