Makes me think of the song by The Cure: Just Like Heaven

BTW The other day I said my first trip to Florence was in 1963

Actually in 63 and 64 I traveled all around Mexico surfing and sight seeing with friends from San Bernardino

It had a similar effect on me

I didn’t go to Florence until the summer of 1980 during a trip to Madrid to study Spanish

After graduate school in San Diego, I took a flight to Madrid with a stopover in LA

On the stopover in LA, my friends from San Bernardino got on the plane

Hadn’t seen them since High School but turned out they owned a car in Madrid

Rather than study Spanish literature, I traveled around Spain, France, Italy, and Greece

It was most definitely a set of spiritual experiences though we were not looking for the Spirit

When I got back to the states, I moved to SF and got a job in IT at the Bank of America

An Indian man with a PHD in physics from an English U took me under his wing

Told me to take some classes in SW engineering at Berkeley and he would teach me about IT

The funny thing was that when I interviewed with Frank
He acted as though he already knew me

When I walked into the room, with a big warm white smile, dark brown face, and bright shining eyes, he said:

    “I’ve been waiting for you”

    Skip,

All I can say is WOW.

Blessings on your trip, you left your daily writings in good hands.

Skip, I was in Florence in 2009 and loved every minute of it. The DAVID is absolutely fabulous and the Duomo and the Baptistry and the Uffizi Galary. Your pictures are spectacular and make me wish I was back there. I am hoping to return in 2014. Thanks for sharing them. Ron Bradley
