My life forever changed from the glory of me for the glory of G’d when I became pregnant with my first child out of wedlock.
The paradigm shift that takes place in a woman once she has given birth and receives the child into her arms cannot be adequately described in mere words.
I think the reason the first born is the one who receives the inheritance is because they mark the beginning of the parents shift from selfishness to selflessness and must endure the painful process to the benefit of the parents and siblings. Therefore because they receive the brunt of that painful process they are entitled to the fruit of it.
While Irene was a star in the eyes of the world she possessed no ability to become what she is now capable of becoming, the guardian of life.
Because it has happened the way it has she will need more help than would normally be necessary with a devoted husband as her support. Perhaps the unfolding of this child’s life by the mercy of God through His saints will be a witness of greater magnitude for the community around her than her superstar status as an athlete.
Perhaps a child can become the salvation of their world.
