Cosmic Shift

For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. Romans 8:19 NASB

Sons of God – How about you? Do you anxiously await with eager expectation the revealing of the sons of God? Or do you dread the Day of Reckoning? Or, perhaps even worse, you just don’t give it any thought. Paul teaches us that the entire creation looks forward with eager expectation. But not to what you might have thought, for you might have thought that the creation looks forward to the day when the Messiah returns when Torah pours forth from Zion when all the wrongs are made right and evil is put to an end. That’s not what Paul says. Paul says that the creation looks forward to the time when the sons of God are revealed. Not the son, singular, but the sons, plural. Did you realize that the whole creation is waiting for God’s sons to be uncovered.

Yes, that’s right. They are there but they are hidden, concealed, veiled from ordinary observation. That’s the meaning of apokalypsis, “to reveal what is hidden.” And the sons of God are currently hidden, but they will be revealed. Imagine that! God’s sons are not recognizable now. They don’t carry church membership cards. They aren’t designated by a religious symbol on a birth certificate. They can’t be identified by what they say or don’t say. They are hidden. But hidden from whom? I doubt that Paul means no one is able to identify them. It’s just that the typical and usual identifications fail. What you need to look for is how these people live, not the labels attached to them. After all, to be in the Father’s image is to be a son and the image of the Father is what He does. So look for hesed, hen, erek appayim, mishpat, rahum—the unadvertised actions of undercover spiritual agents. But some day all of these humble people will be revealed and we may be quite surprised to find them coming forward from all kinds of places, all walks of life, all ethnic groups, all cultural worlds. In other words, you won’t know who they are publically until that day, but you can certainly keep your eyes open in the meanwhile.

In the end, the real question is about you. Are you hidden, a secret agent of the Lord doing what you need to do without fanfare or recognition? Are you a man or woman of the active image of your Father? Are you invisible to pride, self-esteem, aggrandizing importance, accumulation, and self-regard? The greatest secret agents blend in. They accomplish their missions without being noticed. If there ever were a Messianic secret, it is this: work under the radar to accomplish the will of the Father. Leave the advertising to Him.

Some day the entire cosmos will rejoice to see all who have been His emissaries. Maybe not now, but someday. What a day that will be. The fireworks of that celebration will light up the entire universe. Personally, I can hardly wait.

Our father says “other sheeps I have that is not of this FLOCK” I genuinely believe that, other sons ,that could be my next door neighbour, only our heavenly Father knows in the Beatitudes it says “The meek shall inherit the earth”
SHABBATH SHALOM everyone!

If you could look under the radar to examine those who accomplish
the will of the Father, these are the characteristics you’d find:
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control.

This is strictly a curiosity question: What do the Hebrew letters in front of our names and comments mean?

Ric

Shouldn’t it be Aleph-Gimmel-Tav? It appears to be Aleph-Nun-Tav?

robert lafoy

looks like a gimmel to me

Ric

Hey Robert – you are seeing the corrected version.

Sorry, just seeing your comment.
Those Hebrew letters inside of the circles are the new logo for the website. It’s also the “favicon” on the browser tabs as well as the default Gravatar for the website when someone hasn’t created they’re own. So, that means if you want something different then you will need to sign up HERE and upload whatever you want for a gravatar. Beyond that, the meaning was explained by Skip.

Is this those individuals refered to in Job? Are these those that accepted the word? Are these those that are led by the Spirit of God…

Only one begotten Son but manny adopted sons… that is what the scriptures reveal… I understood that son implies following or doing what the Father says… then again obedience to something can make us a slave thereof…

Is this creation not waiting for those that do what God instructed for through them peace, righteousness and joy is manifested in others that cross their paths…

I think the text allows for these “sons” to not neccesarily be human beings but part of /including Fathers currently unseen creation, His truly unseen sons as well. “All” creation includes that which is currently unseen or invisible.. Much of it is yet to be revealed to us.While I agree that we need to be busy doing good and telling no one, I long for the day that I can see all of the supporting cast, His other sons, His unseen agents who have truly worked behind the scenes because today they aren’t even visible…..

Ester

“Are you hidden, a secret agent of the Lord ..?”
Well, אסתר /Ester, the hidden one, also known as Hadassah, is derived from the Hebrew word hester (Heb. הסתר), which means “hiddenness,” and corresponds to a spiritual plane representing hidden G‑dliness.
The name Hadassah is derived from the Hebrew word hadas (Heb. הדס), a myrtle tree from the Myrtaceae family. The myrtle has a pleasant fragrance.
Why was she called Hadassah? Because the righteous are called myrtles. As it states (Zechariah 1:8), “And he was standing among the myrtles [the righteous prophets Chananiah, Mishael and Azariah].” – chabad.org
A simple obedient Jewish girl became queen, and redeemer of her people.

Ze-ra – זרע The seeds of procreation, hidden deep within life itself, when implanted sprouts into glorious lives, each seed reproducing after its kind!
Similarly the Sons of God will be revealed, when the time of His harvest comes around, though they may not be recognizable / identifiable now, being “undercover spiritual agents.”

Having so much fun with this comment.
Seriously, can’t wait for such a glorious day! Shalom!

Kathy

Thank you for the lovely lesson on Ester. I can’t wait either. Shalom

Craig and all Ps 8 5 David states that we are made little lower than God.

May this be sufficient for us to find God in our lives, may we never need more than our faith to be God’s living instruments as all the other celestial beings as we all can olly play the role God empowers us to do.

I for one will not understand a super natural real life episode to experience God’s power…

Shalom to all fellow sojourners who are living in the light of the age to come.

“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 (ESV)

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:30-32 (ESV)

As I have walked on this journey of faith, Yah has used the writing and speaking of others to contribute and stimulate my heart and imagination toward the Ruach. Two people I want to acknowledge for my comments here: Bill Johnson and N. T. Wright.

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God” . . . When I think about grieving, I recall the sorrow I have experienced at the death of loved ones and all that implicates. Grieving seems to speak about the depth of intimacy . . .

We can grieve the Holy Spirit! The grief of the Holy Spirit is seen in respect to our being sealed for the day of redemption. What does that mean? Are we to live out our relationships in light of the day of redemption? Does our vision of the relationships we have today, see into the horizon of the age to come?
