Everyone

I have been without work for some time now. I am in construction!  I have an interview on Wednesday for the position of facilities manager at 10:30AM. I ask that you pray for me to be a great fit and God go before me. I really could use a job, I have a family of 4 children. Also please pray for my wife, this has been extremely stressful for her as well.

Sincerely,

Chris Thompson

Family Matters – Prayer Request

Thursday, December 09th, 2010 | Author:

This morning I received an email from a reader overseas.  Her daughter is having serious troubles at school, not only with classes but with being honest about her performance.  Now that the truth has been discovered, the family is very upset.  Our sister, the mother in this family, has asked for prayer for emotional stability at a time when everything seems to be chaotic.  Would you pray with me for this family, for the daughter who needs to confront her deception and for the mother who needs to show love and hope when relationships have been frayed?

ALSO, one other family here in the USA is in need of real spiritual intervention.  One of the children is in real trouble emotionally and the family is extremely concerned for her health.  Again, would you lift this family up before the Father, asking for His comfort and stability in their lives?

Thanks,

Skip

Prayer Request

Sunday, July 11th, 2010 | Author:

I was trying to find your contact page for prayer requests.  For some reason I cannot locate it on your site.

However, I have a prayer request.

I have been in construction for over 27 years on and off and the past 3 years running my own

commercial construction company.  I have an opportunity to interview for a job at our local

YMCA.  I love working with children and would be interviewing for Director of Aquatics and

Head Swim Team Coach.  Please pass this along so that I can go to the interview with others

in the community praying for me.  FYI I have been involved in swimming since I was 9 years

old and would greatly enjoy this position.

Thanks,

Chris

In Case You Didn’t See This

Message:
My husband was laid off yesterday (they just said that they didn’t need him anymore… which he found later meant that they got rid of him to hire someone with less experience whom they could pay less)…  which was a bit of a surprise.

On one hand it’s a blessing because my husband was miserable there, but it was a paycheck that we needed.  On the other hand, although this isn’t a surprise to G-d, we have two children (1 1/2, 2 1/2), one has autism and is in speech and behavior therapy, and the other on medication for his breathing.  So figuring out how to provide for their needs, as well as G’s therapy and K’s meds, is definitely on our minds.

This is not random chance, and I believe G-d is glorified in our weakness.  This is a great opportunity for Him to be glorified!  :)  I’d appreciate it if you guys would pray for us to rest in and trust in His ultimate plan because He loves us and knew this was coming a looooong time ago.  Also, I’d appreciate prayer for a job for my husband (in this economy that should be fun), and for G-d’s provision in the meantime (I know, this is probably a very Greek mindset,  but I’m still detoxing).

Thanks!

Update to Prayers

Sunday, October 04th, 2009 | Author:

From Ruth Olson who requested prayer in Spetember.

Thank you, Skip, for contacting me.  I haven’t been well and trying to regain my strength.  You can tell the prayer warriors that they can get on my website to see my update at www.gentledoves.org if you allow that sort of thing.

Otherwise, ending last week, I had a bone biopsy and 5 radiation treatments daily all in a row, for my right side of my pelvis from front to back, and the tip of right hip.  I am cautioned not to fall because if the pelvis fractures, I will be on bed rest until it heals.  My left arm has cancer also but they are just watching that to see what it does.

We are praying that the cancer will NOT spread.  This type of bone cancer can spread to the liver, lungs and brain.  The doctor at Mayo said that I will have a good life, if it doesn’t spread.   The Lord is able.
Thank you.  And thank you for your gift from God that you share with all of us.  I have received several emails from your friends who are praying for me.

Hospital Need

Sunday, October 04th, 2009 | Author:
Hello Skip:
I am coming before the body of Christ for a need.
As you may recall, I was to get some money for a contest I entered several months ago, and I was counting on the money.  As of this date, it has not been sent, and I keep praying, but am now wondering if I will get it at all.
I had to go the emergency room yesterday, for I was concerned about my heart as the night before, I felt pains in my left arm, and while in the hospital had several tests done, and two more are recommended, but I just don’t have the money for the other two tests nor the money to pay the hospital bill.  Had I gotten the contest money, i could have paid for it all, and while I haven’t gotten a no on the contest $$, I am not given any direct answers  as to when it will arive, although I have called several times.
I know the Lord is our provider.  I am not one that likes to be in debt, and i don’t believe it’s Biblical to be in this situation, and it seems the economy is dictating differently.
To sum it all up, I am asking if the body of Christ can help me pay some of this hospital bill.  The choice I had was to pay $5,000 incrementally, or use a credit card and have it reduced down to a little under $2,000, which I decided to go with, but $2,000 right now might as well be $10,000.00
I don’t like doing this, and it’s not as much a matter of pride as it is feeling like it is my responsibility, and I take my responsibilites seriously.
I do thank you for listening and continuing to feed us with God’s truth.
Thanks, God bless, Ellen McFarland, Clearwater, FL
NOTE:  At God’s Table is sending $1000 to Ellen tomorrow.  If anyone else wishes to contribute, please let me know.

Prayer Request

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 | Author:

I just got this email from one of our own.

Dear Skip,
We just discovered that the breast cancer I had 5 years ago is now in my bones.  We are having tests today at Mayo to see if it has spread to either liver, lungs or brain.  We’re having difficulty in reading material as this is fully occupying our days.

Please as led by the Lord, lift me up in prayer for healing.

The Lord bless and keep you steadfast in your faith as He is in ours.
Walking a hard walk,
Jerry & Ruth Olson

Prayer Requests

Sunday, April 19th, 2009 | Author:

Please read the following prayer request.  And if you have any requests, please post them as a comment on here.  (Patrick put a link from the homepage to this page so you can easily get back to it.)  Also, if you haven’t listened to The Hebrew View of Prayer you should. -Skip

Skip, will you ask your supporters to pray with us? We are asking believers everywhere to pray for the release of our 32 year-old daughter from the occult. She recently re-established contact with our family after refusing to have any connection with us for almost 3 years.  She knows Christ but is caught up in much psychic-babble and is all but denying Christ.  We know that we are not warring against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in this dark world.  Please pray with us for Tracy’s release from the darkness of the tomb where Satan has led her and into the light of the only Way, the only Truth and the only Life. We are praying that she will one day simply cry out the name of Jesus.  When she does we know that He will meet her where she is and bring her back to Him.  All for His glory and for our good, in the mighty name of Jesus.  Thank you so very much for praying with us.
