Recommended Reading List

Here’s my list of recommended reading.  It’s a growing list of good books and other sources I use frequently while writing Today’s Word.

• The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament ed. Kittel 10 volumes.  This is for Greek readers. If you don’t read Greek, get the single volume abridged edition.

• The Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament ed. Botterweck currently 15 volumes.  This does not require that you read Hebrew.

• The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology 4 volumes

Commentaries

• The JPS Torah Commentary Series

• The New International Commentary on the Old Testament series (NICOT), especially:

• Victor Hamilton, Genesis (Volume 1, Volume 2)
