Background

The Hebrew view of prayer is far richer than our usual ideas.  Not only is the vocabulary expanded, the concept of prayer involves action, attitude, words and even silence.  Understanding the Hebrew view helps us realize that when Paul said "Pray without ceasing" he did not mean "Don't stop talking."
