Willingness (It’s NOT about money.)

I decided to transition Today’s Word from “free” to “make a commitment” after 6 years of writing — around 2200 emails, without missing a single day.  This decision has caused some readers to question my motives.

This move is NOT about money.  It was never about money.

It’s about willingness.

And the measure of willingness that we chose is whether or not Today’s Word is valuable enough for you to make some tangible commitment.

Some of the comments below express what I mean.  But these people say it more eloquently.

Thanks for being active participants in the worldwide attempt to form community.

Dear Dr Skip Moen,

I live in the UK and would like to continue reading your fascinating insights please. Will you please continue to send me daily
emails. Rather than send a gift or buy a book by email, I will come to Norton Parish Village Hall on Saturday
where I am hoping that I will be able to buy your books, contribute to your work and thank you in person.

Is that ok? It makes more sense to do that than to order online from the US. If that does not work then I will happily go
online and place an order.

I have so enjoyed reading what you write, I love revelations of truth whether they are nuances or major paradigm shifts and I have
shared your emails with others who I hope will bestir themselves and get passionate. You have hugely encouraged, blessed and made me think.
Don’t stop!

Kindest regards
Simon

I took your class on the Roman Empire before, during, and after the time of Christ. I bought you upside down backwards book, Guardian Angel.

Since I have been receiving your emails, I have visited your website a few times. I looked over your recommended reading list and used my gift certificate with Barnes N Nobles to order “Cross Word Puzzles”, “Spiritual Restoration, Volume 1 revised”, “Spiritual Restoration, Volume 2”, “Hebrew Thought Compared with Greek” by Thoreif Bonman, & “Truth in Translation” by Jason David BeDuhn (which I am currently reading and up to the 12th chapter).

I also plan to attend when your class when you come back in December per Cheryl’s indication that you will be back.

Have I made a commitment? I am not sure. I know I have been called; God will not let me ignore or run away from Him. I know I constantly seek the truth and don’t just accept spoon feed Christianity, so I am interested.

I did not know this was going to lead into buy books or donate to receive more emails or I would have paced myself.

If you choose to continue to send the emails, that would be wonderful. If not, you have provided me with a great start to find more truth.

Thank you,

Shirley Brown
