Technicolor indeed. These pictures are awesome!!

Thanks for sharing.

Pastor Paul Sims

What a beautiful sight and also how wonderful our heavenly Father to give to us His amazing touch of love and tenderness!! I needed that today.

Brother Paul

Sometimes God’s goodness is perceived better through a clear lens. Good job.

sometimes that “clear lens” is given to us from above by the tears we cry. Nothing is better for our eyes physically or “spiritually” than tears.

The Lord is truly the Great Artist. Especially when He could have made everything dull and drab in appearance and still have it function and survive.

Mary

Unbelievably awesome! To think, we are blessed to recognize the splendor of our Father’s glorious creation, while the world sees only the beauty without the Creator. And as I view this, I marvel at His calling us Sons and Daughters. How wonderful is our King’s Love for us!

Jay Culotta

Skip,

Thanks for sharing those photos. You have a good camera and have mastered macro shots because your depth of field is perfect. Nature photography is my passion, to show God’s creation in all its splendor.

Marchien

Thank you for sharing. Lovely pictures. God’s creation is so marvelous, so detailed.

I’ve always enjoyed your photographs, Skip, and your penchant for butterflies and flowers! I’m just a point-and-shoot guy, knowing nothing of the technicalities, but sometimes they turn out quite well :-), though rarely as nicely as yours.

I hesitate to mention this, since it may smack of self-promotion, but my big passion might be described as “patterns in nature to the glory of God”. There is a wonderful website called Earth Science Picture of the Day (EPOD) that features pictures submitted by anyone who wishes to supply a short non-technical abstract to accompany it. The editor, Jim Foster, decides what and when to display the pictures. Unfortunately the archives are not working at the momen, but the link is http://epod.usra.edu/

Also, I hesitate to mention this for it might smack of self-promotion, but next month “A Mathematical Nature Walk” is due to be published, and it has many photographs in it, both color and B&W, with a lot of descriptive material. If interested, go to http://press.princeton.edu/titles/8864.html

Blessings!

John, your new book looks really great. I just pre-ordered a copy from Amazon.

Oh, I do hope you enjoy it, Patrick!

Blessings,

John

Jeannie

I ordered your book as well. I love having interesting books around when my grandchildren visit.

John Adam

Jeannie – I hope it will be a blessing to you all. There are many photographs in it and quite a lot of descriptive and anecdotal material surrounding the equations :-). Enjoy!

There’s an interesting “prequel” to this. In my first book (Mathematics in Nature – which is bit more advanced), I put a scripture verse at the beginning of each chapter. The verses were mostly from the O.T. since nature figures prominently in so much of it. Obviously for some people, that pressed some buttons, and they looked no further, judging by the critical comments 🙂 But His word does not return to Him void! It was quite eye-opening to me to see how hostile some people could be, “just” because of some scriptures, but I guess I should not have been surprised!

Well!
That’s what happens when you try and save time by cutting and pasting – mindless repetition! Ah well…that’s the Lord’s way of reminding me that He is Lord and I am not 🙂

Exquisite. What a blessing! Our Father shows His love and care for us in His creation. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for this Beautiful reminder of our God’s wonderful Creation. Small simple and unique, it captures the handiwork of God. This is more prove of the Biblical proof of Creation. To think God took the time to think of what we may view as small things, he made them big in his eyes. God Bless!!!!

John Adam

Yes, I’ve very much enjoyed our conversations, both electronic and acoustic, Skip! And now the possibilities for interaction are even greater with this blog, thanks to you and Patrick.

mary ann

there is nothing like nature. He know our likes and does all to please us. if we could only please Him half as much.

Craig Garrett

Hello Skip,
The butterflies are beautiful but, they do not compare to the living words you write about daily. Their value grows with time as we understand their meanings. The nectar of the living word gives life, sustains it and insures our relationship with God eternally. The butterfly is here today and gone tomorrow. Thanks for the photos for the eye and the WORD for the soul.
your friend, Craig Garrett

Skip, your butterfly pictures are beautiful, and you are very gifted. I love YHWH’s demonstration in the world of our own transformation through Him. If anyone has seen the transformation of a caterpiller to the cocoon (chrysalis) and rebirthed as a butterfly, then they know what it means when it says in the Word that all old things pass away and all things become new! Good Bless you in all that you do for this community!
