Michael

A somewhat androgynous looking hero of the Cuban revolution, carrying what seems to be a baseball bat.

The statue above makes me think of the classic gangster/priest film, “Angels with Dirty Faces” (1938).

Starring James Cagney, Pat O’Brien, and Humphrey Bogart

Director – Michael Curtiz was one of Hollywood’s most prolific and colorful directors.

Born to a well-to-do Jewish family in Budapest, his most famous movie is the classic, Casablanca. (a white room)

An anti-fascist propaganda film of the first order.

Among numerous other films, he directed a German language version of Moby Dick, called
Dämon des Meeres (1931) .

.. aka “Demon of the Sea” – USA (informal literal English title)

And Noah’s Ark (1928)
