What Happened To My Today’s Word?
Occasionally, the email server that sends out Today’s Word encounters a problem with an email address. This is called a “bounce.” That usually means your mailbox is full or your spam filter is sending back a message or something.
Anyway, when this happens several times, our email server automatically DROPS your name from the list and stops trying to deliver emails to you. Usually, I don’t even know that it has happened.
SO, IF FOR SOME REASON YOU STOP GETTING TODAY’S WORD and you think that you should be getting it every day, then you have probably been bounced. You will need to contact me and tell me that you aren’t getting your usual dose of Skip’s journey through the Scriptures so that I will know to go take a look, and hopefully just re-add your email address.

Ironically Skip, if they have been dropped for the list already, they wouldn’t have received this post/email to know what to do. 😉
So I’ll post a link on the homepage to this explanation so that if someone visits the site after wondering why they stopped getting TW, they’ll have an indication of why, and what they can do.
Yes, I realize that. But at least the people who now read this will know what’s happened when they suddenly don’t get TW anymore. I went back and cleaned up the rest. Thanks for keeping tabs on me. 🙂
Patrick, I am getting TW about once a week. No pattern but I may as the daily prompt. We’ve been subscribing and supporting since our tour in 2012 but this intermittent TW problem has persisted for the past nearly one year. Appreciate any resolution you can lend. John And Pam Riley, Carthage, IN

I’m showing that the TW is being sent to you each day. As you can see by the record from MailChimp, it keeps track of each one that goes out, that is opened or not, and if a link inside of the TW was clicked on. This image just shows the last 7 days but it goes back to each day since you signed up and I’m not seeing any gap from our end. So, I’m not able to determine what happened on your end.
As you can see, on the 6th, 7th, and 9th a TW was sent to you but you didn’t open it. The 8th was Shabbat and one doesn’t go out on Shabbat. Maybe check your inbox and see if you can find the ones that you didn’t open but, it was sent. Possibly check your spam folder? Normally all will go to spam, if that’s what’s happening, not just 3 and then back to your normal inbox.

Thank you so much for all your hard work and sharing it with us. According to our log, TW was sent to you every day since 7 August and it was OPENED every day. SO, someone is opening your TW. Better investigate on your end.

If you were bounced, it was not intentional. That usually happens when there is some technical issue with the email box. So, I’ll take a look.

Either you (accidentally) or someone you forwarded the TW to, unsubscribed, and that removed you from the database. I will send you the confirmation, but at this point (and I try to make this clear to as many as I can), I CANNOT put you back on the list. Internet security about “spam” will not allow it. Thanks for many years of great writing. I retired in November of 2014 and notified your web-site to discontinue my subscription, and they have. But the billing department continues to send me a bill.
