I am really, really appreciating this series right now! Thank you for posting these online!

Re: the widow of Nain– I had just been praying this morning before hearing this session… So I “got it” in a flash in my mind’s eye and it started to make me cry when you were teaching–that Jesus was weeping, his gut was wrenched as you so aptly described– because she is also a picture of Mary, the mother of our Lord, –about to lose her only son and as a widow too.

Perhaps when Jesus went up to speak with the dead man he was asking him if it was his will to come back and to be alive again?!

I don’t know about that. I do know I have read Orthodox Christian books about the desert Fathers, monks in the Sinai etc. who have been so purified by God’s Holy Spirit and through prayer and walking in the holy ways –that they can see people’s thoughts to a certain degree but only when and because the Holy Spirit wills it — certainly not as sorcery to use for themselves… So for instance, when Jesus was writing on the ground and the men (who were going to stone the woman caught in adultery) –started walking away from oldest to youngest… Why?! And how?! I don’t understand that mystery yet but it just seems like when Jesus could discern the thoughts of people’s hearts he was picking up more than just body language…

But what do I know? I don’t — but I truly appreciate all the beautiful Hebrew /Jewish perspective insights I’m learning and being nourished in by this study! I hope to give much away to others!
