Prayer Request from Tim
TIm sent me this:
Skip,
I am requesting prayer for a young 14 year old boy that I use to mentor. I
mentored him for over 5 years and in December his grandparents felt that
he needed to be back with his mom in Cincinnati. He was just starting to
do better. After 5 years I had finally broke through and because of many
reason some I can’t even begin to think of he was sent back to his mom and
I was not allowed to see him.
Last night I called his grandmother to see how he was doing and she
wouldn’t tell me anything just pray because he is in the hospital and
needs prayer. The last time I spoke with her she said that he was doing
really bad and they were taking him for psychological evaluation and were
thinking about handing him over to JDC.
Something inside of me is telling me that they committed him. He is a good
kid. He is just a lot to handle. He has a lot to work out. At birth he was
taken away from his drug abusive mother and then adopted. At nine his
adopted mother sent him to live with his adopted grandparents. They are
nice people but they are 80+years old and his grandmother is convinced
because she couldn’t help him there is something physiologically wrong
with him.
He has turned to alcohol. This is the kid that almost died a year ago and
they had to pump charcoal down his throat.
In September after coming out of JDC he started to turn around. It was
small things but people were noticing…even the assistant principal of
the junior high. I know I was reaching him. I was the only one who visited
him in JDC and I believe God used it to build trust.
Please pray that YHWH will help to open up a door for me to see him and to
help him. I know it is in His hands and I do trust Him. I am finding out
that sometimes trusting hurts.
Thank you and God Bless.
Tim
Bless you brother. If each of us could scoop up just one of these kids what a difference it would make.
I have several grand-kids that need outside mentoring. I pray that Avinu would send someone like you to them.
Envío mis oraciones por este muchacho y su tutor para que el Señor les permita volver a estar unidos para su protección y que el hermano Tim pueda darle la ayuda que necesita. El Señor es el Señor y para Él no hay nada imposible.
Thank You Father for hearing the prayers of Your people concerning this matter, in Yeshua’s name, Amen.
Tim, We had custody of our 14 y.o. granddaughter for nearly 2 years. We got her from court and brought her to our home in another state. She was in all kinds of trouble and in and out of JJC. She finally violated her probation 1 too many times and we had to take her back to her home. She never finished high school and was sexually promiscuous and using drugs. She got pregnant and we took nearly everything she needed for the baby and gave it to her and reminded her we loved her no matter what she did. Today she is 23, married with 2 daughters and going to college to be a physician’s assistant. She still has not given her life to the Lord, but we believe that the good seeds that were sown while she was here fell on good ground and will sprout and grow into fruitfulness. God doesn’t throw away kids, nor do the spiritual gifts you gave your grandson return void. I pray that wherever he is the Holy Spirit will remind him often of the things you poured into him and that one day you will see him – whole and walking with Yeshua. God’s peace be your portion.
Praying for God’s seed to fall on good soil and it will produce a hundredfold crop through this child.
My heart aches for you and this boy. Praying that he would know God made him and wants a relationship with him and that a door is opened for you.
Dearest Tim,
I worked for two years in a group home with young male sex offenders. The youngest was only eight years old (yes, it is very possible). I KNOW I was reaching some of them like you were, but was fired when I complained when the office ‘Christmas’ party was held in a strip club.
There are so many of these kids out there. You did what you could. Jehovah allowed you to be in this boy’s life.
Praying for you and this boy,
Diane
Oh the power of prayer in agreement ! What an honor to be a part of being able to pray for others needs
I KNOW He hears!
The Lord bless you Tim and continue to guide you
Hi Tim,
Don’t know if my wife and I can be of any help, but she has worked in public mental
health for a number of years. We live in Dayton, but could easily network with a counselor(s)
in Cinnicinati who are belieivers in Yeshua.
I’ll be praying for you,
Brett Duncan
Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up this young man before you. We thank you for the opportunities Tim has had to speak truth into his life with love. We pray for his life, Lord. YOU are the way,Lord. The only way. Show him this truth. And, Lord, send others to him, even now, who can minister to him and love him. Lord, reveal yourself to him. We thank you for the work You have already done and for the work you will continue to do in him. We trust you. You are faithful. Thank you, Father!
Dear Lord, I also lift this young man to your loving heart. Thank you Tim for caring so much for his soul and your willingness and desire to be able to reach out to him again. He seems to have one person in life he can trust and I pray that a door will open for you to continue to hep him in some way.
So many young people today are confused and alone with families that hurt their souls instead of helping them. I’m sure they feel so alone and lost.
I pray from the bottom of my heart that you Tim will many more chances to help and serve this young man and that he come to know the Lord deeply through your witness and love. Thank YOU for being a strong man of God!
Father,
I lift up to you the young man that was mentored by Tim. I pray, dear Lord, that you will send somebody to comfort this young man at this difficult time in his life. Help him to trust again, as he had trusted Tim. I pray, for Tim, too. May he find joy in remembering that he was a big part of the young man’s life during the time that he was mentoring him and to be continually blessed by You in this ministry that You had given him, in Jesus’ Name.
