Request for Immediate Prayer
Amy Gomes is one of our faithful. She participates in our Shabbat group, attends the Matthew Bible study and has been part of the community for many years. Her career is helping disabled children. Not only does she do this in Lake Country, Florida, she also built a school for handicapped children in Ukraine, the first of its kind, from her own resources and donations. Now the United States Federal government is giving her a great deal of grief over their mistake in billing practices. You would think it would be an easy fix since the error is on the government side. But as you might guess, the government’s view is that they can do no wrong. So Amy needs intervention. Here’s what she is asking:
“After 20 years of serving the special needs children of Central Florida and being a faithful Medicaid provider, the system has turned on the small providers and demanded a huge sum of money as a fee refund because of a system error. We are now being forced to repay over $100,000 for services that we have provided over the past 18 months. I ask that you would join me in prayer asking God to reverse this devastating decision that could put our company out of business. It is the philosophy of my company that we bring the compassion of God into the homes of children with disabilities and we pray that we will be able to continue despite this unfair ruling. Thank you!”
Please join us in a concerted effort to bring this mistake before the Lord who is sovereign even over Medicaid!

I pray that the Lord will bring the right people into your life to assist with this unexpected problem. Perhaps, someone who has knowledge and expertise in dealing with the government regarding this type of financial matter. It must seem overwhelming.
I also pray for G-d’s perfect peace as you await His perfect resolution! May you feel His presence and encouragement in the midst of this crisis.

Our Father,
Rich in mercy and grace, Almighty in Power. You hold the hearts of kings in Your Hand and can turn hearts. Deal with these powers and speak to their hearts through Your Spirit. Bring people into this situation that will speak Your Wisdom and knowing You are able to bring about more than what we can ask or think, we humbly bow to Your will. Bring shalom to Amy during this trial and speak peace to her spirit.
I agree with everyone else. Once again, it seems an assult on doing good. Lord God, only You can work this out, and I pray you give Amy hope and supernatural power to continue the mission You have given her.
Amy I pray that YHWH will expose any hidden thing in the injustice of this ruling and may his Justice be brought forth. May he provide someone who can advise and help you turn this thing on it head!

A gentleman in my church likes to say that ‘when God shows up, He shows off’. This is a situation where God can really show off. The fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (don’t remember Bible address off hand for that), so, diligently pray! Like Skip said, God is sovereign even over the government systems! We love you Amy.

The mercy of G-d is always at work. I pray that those who want Amy to pay for her due unjustly will revisit and reverse their error decision. Blessed to those who have this authority and make it happen so. Thanks to the Lord Yeshua who is our Messiah.
May the Lord God YHVH hear your cry and this Community, and just as He overturned the wrongly accused Yoseph in prison and the wicked Pharaoh in favor of His children Israel; Amy, may He again – also turn your situation around abundantly in your favor. May His great name be honored and glorified because of His love for his children. Thank you Yeshua for intervening on behalf of Amy and her staff …
I plead the blood of Jesus over this ministry and for His mercy and grace. It is in Christ name that I pray!
Of course, they will NOT admit that they are wrong or else they will get their pants sued off them.So the only way to fight the system is to get this know to the public and the media.Get the papers and T.V involved so that they can publish this story. If worst come to worst, the opposition political party in so they will fight the case for you.I hate to bring in the politics into this but if that is what is needed, than they will be told.As I said, last resort.
If it is possible , make it like they themselves came in to rescue you and let them be the hero. If they be put into the bad light, of course, they will not do anything about it. BUT if, they will come out as the HERO than there is a chance that they may do it.
Amy, and All, — I Just now read that States are saying to Feds–“get out of our way”— more and more they are doing that, so if possible it seems that you should deal with the IRS located in the State of Florida and win them over.– ( sounds simple for me to write such–when I know what you are dealing with: THE USA Gov. with their millions of lawyers!
May I give you a personal testimony that I pray will give you more HOPE, of my husband Ed, and myself? Not anywhere near the sum that they are asking your business for, but for us it was a nightmare: we had invested in a business of a close relative. After doing well for a short period, the business folded and we lost our investment– about $25,000, we decided & wisely so to get a CPA , as we had done our own Income Tax Returns up until then. We prayed and really sought the Lord on this! With our loved ones involved it was very important to us that we not be at odds with them-or have any bitterness toward them. Loosing the money, and getting what the IRS stated we were allowed to use for deductions, was legal, and we did want to have that though.
Another close loved one had a best friend that lived in Houston and he was a CPA and a dedicated Christian. We got him to help us with the income tax return, that included the loss of our investment. He did and it was sent in, in due season, the IRS stated we owed them $5,000 dollars. Our CPA was appalled, along with us! He went to work studying the situation, and called the IRS in our Capitol State of TX: Austin. —
NOW I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND WE WERE IN SINCERE PRAYER REGULARLY OVER THIS SITUATION- -not just turning it over to our CPA. In the CPA’s phone calls to Austin, he “accidentally” was put under in the higher IRS TX office, a woman that he had graduated with from U of TX.
She was reasonable to talk to, and he reminded her that there were TWO WAYS to look at the law, and they had both been in the class where it was taught. — Yes, in a few weeks we got a check for $5,000. We got it, instead of paying them that.
Not only that but again this year we still are able to take a small amount off our income tax return for the investment loss. It has been an estimated 12 years since the above happened, and I am not sure about the exact # of years, but our current CPA here, said we had two or three more years to take it off. —- We did change CPA’s after a few years of being here in Lampasas and not Houston. The man I spoke of above went with a large prestigious ACCOUNTING GROUP, that charged way too much money for us to afford!———-To us, this true account is one more example THAT YHWH CARES ABOUT ALL OF US!–
–Our CPA here is a woman, mother of three, with her husband also a CPA, at about one-fourth the amount of the first one. She does our income tax for us cheaper than for the ranchers here, because I organize the materials and put them on work forms for her.– They bring in the big boxes she says and sits them down and says you organize it–that is what I pay you for.
-WE ARE ALL TO BE GOOD STEWARDS OF OUR PERSONAL BUSINESS– OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS FULL OF GOOD EXAMPLES: ‘mammon’–Aramaic word for riches–
– Yes, I know that it does not always work this way, life is complicated, but in times that it does not, in due time we can see why God did not allow it to work that way: There was something that we needed to learn , or we could NOT SEE the BIG PICTURE, —or we just needed to relearn to live ONE DAY AT A TIME AS UNTO THE LORD, AND GIVE THANKS FOR IT.

At a legal training I attended today they mentioned the availability of a waiver process. This means Amy should apply for a waiver of the repayment. Legal services may be able to help her non profit do this. Lake county is in Community Legal Services of Mid Florida territory.
