THE TRIP OF A SECOND LIFETIME in 2012
In October 2009, a group of Today’s Word readers accompanied Rabbi Bob Gorelik and me to Israel. For 12 days we learned so much about the background of the Bible, the culture and customs of the land and the meanings of the words of God that it will take the rest of our lives to unpack it all. Now we are going again.
Bob and I will take another 20 people on a second trip to Israel. We’ll visit some familiar places and many new ones. The purpose of this trip is NOT tourism. We are going to learn, to study, to absorb the places where the biblical events occurred. If you liked what you saw on the DVD series we produced from the first trip, or if you missed going the first time, THIS IS THE SECOND GREAT TRIP OF A LIFETIME.
April 24 to May 6 (approximately) from New York to Israel and return. All travel from New York, transport, lodging and most meals will be included. SO START SAVING YOUR SHEKELS. 13 Days of non-stop Hebraic world experience.
This is a LIMITED group. Let me know if you want to go (wasn’t that in a song somewhere), or at least if you’re interested. We will have an exact price in a few weeks, but it will be approximately $4000.
Oh wow! I hope you’ll plan to do this a third time! Barring a revelation and intervention of YHWH, my trip of a lifetime will probably need to wait until my children are a little bit older. But, I DO hope that this opportunity will come again, because I can’t imagine a better way to learn about everything that walking it out! And Rabbi Gorelik was awesome on the DVDs!
At God’s Table friends, I was one of the 17 on the first trip. As Skip wrote, this is incredible study time and personal experience on and at the locations we read about in the Bible! I can vividly remember Rabbi Bob teaching about the blood of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane -then we had time to pray there, too. Prayerfully consider this “trip of a lifetime” it was worth every penny (shekel)!!! Matt miller, Iowa
I’m going to speak with my husband and see if we can work it out. I visited Israel around 4 years ago and am so hungry to get back.
Skip, can you give me an idea of a “potential” itinerary? I know it’s not set in stone, but a little more details might be of help. Also, what about a single person? I have a female friend who might be interested in going. Can single roommates be matched up to keep costs lower? Just curious. Thanks. Now I can keep dreaming about returning to Jerusalem 🙂
I will have the itinerary soon. We are working on the hotels. And of course we can accommodate singles.
