Do You Someone in Kuala Lumpur?

Here’s a very personal request.  My daughter, Rachel, will be arriving on the aircraft carrier John C. Stennis in Kuala Lumpur about the first week of October.  She will have some shore leave after 30 days at sea and she would like to spend some time with people who live there, especially if they are involved in missions work.  So, if you are that person or if you know someone who is, can you let me know so I can communicate with her.

After Kuala Lumpur she will be heading for Bangkok, hopefully to enjoy the same arrangement.

Thanks,

Skip, regarding Rachel, I actually do not know anyone in Kuala Lumpur, but I have known of some that lived in Bangkok. I had major surgery the day before this came out, and have prayed and interceeded about it the entire time. I truly believe that I am to offer this information to Rachel, not you, but her. She is apparently a very capable young lady. Yes, I do understand she is in Navy, but hear the possiblities here. So here goes: the Southern Baptist have an International Mission Board (IMB) with over 5000 appointed missionaries around the world. They have had young people come to the missions world wide, to work for them for short terms. When we traveled and lived in Asia, we visited the SBC College in Bangkok, and in some other places, too. There is no other mission group so well cared for than the Southern Baptist ones, now called IMB. If this denomination can not be trusted, no one can. Now, their theology will not be like yours Skip, but they are morally honest, clean, truly believe God’s Word as they teach it, but not in any manner legalistic. –I grew up and belonged to one or another of their churches for ABOUT 40 YEARS. No longer do, but still have a love in my heart for them. Yes, they are blinded in some areas, and I truly believe that no one Skip has all the correct theology on this earth! God makes the paths straight in due season when people are looking and searching for HIM. This group can be trusted with your children. God will then make it complete! —– If Rachel gets into their web sites, contacts them, maybe she could make the Thailand Mission Field in Nov. The IMB has been more open in some ways to bring change in their mission programs the past five years. I THINK THE WORD, JOURNEYMAN IS THE TERM THEY USE FOR YOUNG people going. She would need to come in under a different arrangement than is the regular one. She possibly would so love this group once she gets in, that the next years in the Navy, she would have a place to take her leave days for all kinds of Mission Programs around the world.– I do know that many references, qualifications, purposes stated why she wants to do this–would be needed. If she goes after it with prayer, and honest gusto, perhaps she will move the doors open. I think she would open them better than her “father”. She is capable, of that I am sure!—- She got herself in the U.S. Navy!—God can redeem all things for His Glory–and “make something beautiful out of even ashes!– Ed and I know, He has done it repeatedly in our lives—

I have a first cousin & husband that just completed their 30 year term with IMB, and returned to the states in 2011. They will be going for the entire month of Nov.to India, 2012, to do teaching for the local pastors with the IMB. They lived the last few years in an apt in Chiang Rai in the northern part of Thailand. Our son was working in Bangkok on the Kings’ private plane–(or one of the 17 sons planes), and flew up seems about an hour flight to Chiang Rai for one week-end. The place is full of Burma Monks—temples, etc. PLEASE get this to Rachel, and let us all pray, something good will come out of it for her and the people she is with. ( Rachel, no faintness for you in this, pray, push, speak up for yourself in this, HOPE, and encourage all of us to do the same for you! Okay? with God’s Love, LaVaye Billings

Hi Skip,

I was thinking that all the people I knew in Kuala Lumper were now in Milpitas

But I just remembered some relatives there who are very Christian

I’ll see if I can get in touch with them through my wife

I know a wonderful Bhuddist family in Bangkok, who cooks the best food I’ve ever eaten

But I tried to contact them a couple of months ago for my brother in Chaing Mae

And they never responded
