IRENE in South Africa – NEWS UPDATE
9 people now have made contributions to Irene’s running. One person is following up on some other help and one couple even asked about how to get Irene and her family to the USA.
In total, we raised more than $2000 for Irene.
This will go into the At God’s Table bank account in South Africa and be used to sponsor Irene’s entry fees into races.
THANK YOU! There is hardly anything more satisfying in the world than being the hands and feet of YHWH.
I spent the night in jail for being drunk in the dog park
My dog Max is somewhere else
Going to find my car now
If possible
What’s happening to you? Are you coming apart?
I guess so
So what do you need that we can help with?
Well, funds always help. Now that I am beginning the rough edits of the documentary, I see that I need to have more footage, so I’ll take the equipment when I go back. I have only 1 wireless mic so I can’t record two speakers at the same time with the same quality. The camera has a shotgun mic but that means that one channel is always less quality, especially when I am shooting from a distance. So, if you really are inclined and you have the funds, I could really use a second mic for interviews and more footage of the situation. But these are expensive (about $350) which is why I only have one. Anything toward that would help.
Also, while I have a good amount toward Irene’s needs, I would like to set up an account there in South Africa that will give her some amount of money each month. Otherwise I am afraid that the needs are so big that the money will be spent all at once. So, any monthly support would help. You can give it all at once if you like, but I will make sure it is distributed slowly so she will have funds over a long period.
I thought about getting clothing and shoes here, but I don’t know her sizes and they are all metric anyway, so I will take money to South Africa to get some of those things too.
Hi Pam,
Thanks, I’m separated from my children and I think that is my main problem
Appreciate your concern though
Thanks,
Mike
I hate hearing that. I’ve been there and done that before I knew YHVH. It was my own fault but it tore me up just the same. Prayer is all I have to offer but you’ve certainly got that.
As my girlfriend’s little grandson would say “Be careso “.
Michael,
Separation is a pain-filled thing. Praying that you will be able to deal with the pain in a way that brings true healing and shalom.
YHWH bless and keep you.
Hi Brian
Thanks, haven’t felt much shalom lately, with a PhD from UCSD
And behaving like a fool
Nothing to be proud of
Did get to spend time with my daughter today and got my dog Max out of the pound
So I am grateful for that
Michael, hang in there; things will get better…or they won’t, but at least now you know how NOT to handle a similar problem in the future. Knowing of your passion for films and your ability to keenly dissect their plots and subplots for their meaning (unlike me who just enjoys the moving, talking pictures while munching on popcorn and Good and Plenty candies, without much regard for meaning-which may accurately represent our respective spiritual practices and understandings–Oy vey).
Anyway, I watch you from a distance and wonder which movie you would say would best represent your life? And perceiving that you, more often than not, seem to draw dark or negative interpretations of the films you mention in your posts, do you have an alternate positive ending for the one that best depicts your life story? Just know that YHWH, as master film director, has cast you as a hero and not an archetypical villain or enemy and that your part is a lead role and not merely a walk on or bit role player in this game of life. The episode in the park the other day was just one scene out of many leading up to the grand climax of… “Well done, good and faithful servant”. Now it’s up to you to rewrite the script if necessary. Be well my friend. Michael
