Rodney Baker Requests Prayer

Skip,

Would you please post this on Today’s Word?

My family and I would really value your prayers in the coming days. My mum is
gravely ill and we really don’t know how long she has left – could be days,
could be weeks. She is now bed-bound and in almost constant pain, barely able
to communicate (although she still has her sense of humour, even if only when
the pain subsides a bit). She has been unable to take solid food for nearly 2
weeks now.

Dad is doing his best but is feeling (and showing) the strain. It is a
difficult time for all of us – the hardest part is not knowing when the end
will finally come. Yet, YHVH God is in control through all of this. All we can
pray is that His will be done and His name be glorified. Mum has been a
blessing to many and has spent many hours in prayer and intercession. She has
no quality of life and little dignity left. Those who knew her at her best
would hardly recognise her now.

Please keep Mum (Honi), Dad (Don), my brother and his family (Anthony, Britt,
Sarah & Jessica) and my family (Laura, Josiah & Daniel) and me in your prayers
through this time.

YHVH gives, and YHVH takes away; Blessed be the Name of YHVH.

ABBA, Your will be done for Rodney’s Mum, if You will, let her sleep peacefully away to wake up on Resurrection Day. HalleluYAH!

Let Your comfort and strength be upon the household, Rodney’s Dad especially, and that they will meet again when Yahushua returns!

We commit Honi into Your loving care, ABBA YHWH. Amein!

Mary

Father, bring comfort to Rodney’s Mum, relieve her pain and comfort the family as they witness the ravage of this disease. May it bring them all closer to You. May they cling to you and listen for your Voice as you speak through your Word. Blessed are You, Creator of Heaven and earth.

Rein de Wit

May God be your Strength in this difficult time Rodney.

~I will bless the LORD at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. For to me – to live is Christ, and to die- gain ~

ABBA Father, what a delight it is for us to know our Elohim, our God who has revealed Himself to be both merciful and compassionate. One who is always faithful and has promised and spoken these words unto us by the written word and through the incarnate, resurrected Son, the now Living Word:

~ I AM the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die ~
(John 11.25)

We are so blessed, dear Father to have this promise given unto us by One who is incapable of a lie. We praise You and bless Your Name, our Father, and ask for your sweet Holy Presence, the blessed Ruach HaKodesh to infill, infuse, energize and empower this precious family to draw them closer to You and to each other during this time of transition, from life unto death or from death unto life or from life unto life. We only would ask that Your wil, Your good pleasure be fully accomplished, on earth as it is in Heaven. As helpless as little children, we are totally dependent upon You, dear Father to provide the needs of each family member during these difficult days but we also rejoice in knowing You are the One who is and will remain always faithful. Accomplish Your work among each member of those who now belong to You and to those who might be outside of the family of God; draw each unto Yourself is our prayer in the strong Name that is above every name, the blessed Name of our Savior and Near-Kinsman Redeemer and that we, dear LORD would remember to praise You once again for Calvary’s cross and Your total victory over death, sin and the grave. Amen.

Yael

Our dear Almighty Heavenly Abba YHVH
Please have mercy upon Rodney’s family, especially his mother Honi; may you grant her relief from her illness and pain and give her healing; also to the whole family strength and joy and shalom and faith to love and trust in you always.

In the name of our Savior and Healer YahuShua HaMasiach we pray.
Amein.

Love and Shalom,
Yael & Hadi.

“Yea, thou I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death……”

The parting of one of God’s ransomed ones may appear the same as death, — but God assures us it is a mere ‘shadow’ of death.
Looks the same, but has no power to hurt. The shadow will pass over her. And God Himself will walk beside her and she will experience no fear.

Who better to understand than He who has been this way Himself. He has suffered all this; loss of diginity and privacy, endured terrible suffering.
He is with her now and always. He has promised to never leave. His promises are true.

“Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee.”

May you feel G-d’s power, presense, peace during these difficult days.
Thinking about and praying for your entire family.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God , King of the universe, who grants grace and peace for families to persevere in seasons of sorrow and joy.

Praying for your family.

Thank you Abba that we can come together before you . We lift up this family in prayer and ask You to be very present in their lives. Thank you for the hope and the promises that comfort us and demonstrates the unfathomable love You have towards us. Let them know Your shalom that surpasses understanding and grant them your comfort always. Amen

Dear Rodney and family

We are praying for you and bless you with these words I came across on the hebrew4christian website:

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:28-31

נתֵן לַיָּעֵף כּחַ וּלְאֵין אוֹנִים עָצְמָה יַרְבֶּ

no-ten la-ya-eif ko-ach, ul-ein o-nim otz-mah yar-beh

“He gives power (ko’ach) to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength”
(Isa. 40:29)

Note that the word translated “strength” in this verse (otzmah) comes from the same root for “bones” (עֲצָמוֹת). This alludes to the vision of the “dry bones” being clothed with life at the time of resurrection. “Thus says the Lord God to these bones: ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live'” (Ezek. 37:5). If God has the power to give life to dessicated bones, surely his resurrection power can “quicken us” through the life of our beloved Savior Yeshua who said, “You will receive power (i.e., koach: כּחַ) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:7). Therefore we can recite the Hebrew blessing, בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יהוה אֳלהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם הַנוֹתֵן לַיָּעֵף כּח, “Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe, who gives strength to the weary.” We find real everlasting strength in our Comforter, the One who gives us life…

Yashar Ko’ach b’Yeshua, chaverim!

Galatians 6:2
Bear one another’s burdens,
and so complete the Torah of Messiah.

Psa 23:1-6
A Psalm of David. YHWH is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of YHWH forever.

2Cr 1:3-4
Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yahushua Messiah, the Father of mercies and Elohim of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by Elohim.

Numbers 6:23-26
“Speak to Aharon and his sons, saying, ‘This is how you bless the children of Isra’el. Say to them:
“YHWH bless you and guard you;
YHWH make His face shine upon you, and show favour to you;
YHWH lift up His face upon you, and give you SHALOM.”
“Thus they shall put My Name on the children of Isra’el, and I Myself shall bless them.”

Comfort & blessings of YAH be upon you & yours.

Your brother & sister in YAH~

LaVaye Billings

Rodney-whom I have respected from your writings, may I write that I am, too in the midst of “walking in the shadow of death” with my husband, Ed now 84years of age, critically ill for the past six months. ( married nearly 61 years). He has frequent the hospitals the past six months with so many different issues that we could not recoup from one, until a few days later he was in a new ER. So many times even the medical teams thought he would not live, but God has allowed him to continue on. He is home again now, with only one-third of his heart working, on 12 drugs a day, and an intravaneous drug in a PICC line going directly into his heart. I have been through so much with him. ( None of our children live near us–have come at different times for a few days, but the bulk of the Caring is left for me, with everthing from prpeparing a strict diet– to driving him to hospitals in other cities, to the humble demeaning jobs that our culture does not deal with very well. Just keeping up with opeing the bills and filling out the forms, and trying to keep up with for an old lady is unbelievable. — NOW, we are in the middle of a new necessity house roof, wih many of the workers not speaking English. The roof was leaking this a.m. But they were not here, as we had a storm and they live two hours away, where an explosion in a plant happened last night. So do not know if they will show tomorrow or not. BUT IN THE MIDST OF ALL THIS CRAZINESS, WE HAVE EXPERIENCED A FEW GLORIOUS THINGS FROM PEOPLE THAT could have COME ONLY FROM THE LORD. AND ALSO, it has humbled me so much, and I far better see the scriptures on DEATH– it is not usually sudden, but when the scripture says, something about “buring the dead”, it is not a three deal of dying & being buried, but make take months or even years to happen. And we are to take each day, really each hour of that time, and ask the Lord to teach us what we should learn from it, and then try to use that with helping other people look and search, and seek what their lives should be about. SEEKING FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, IN ALL ITS FULLEST MEANINGS.–MUCH WORK TO DO FOR ALL OF US— Also, I was reading Skip’s South African writing, and the replies. The “TRUE SOUTH AFRICAN MAN”, IN HIS NEXT TO LAST PARAGRAPH, HIT IT ON THE NAIL, when he stated that “IT” is a picture of what all countries will be experiencing, these trauma’s of dying that seem to go on and on, and the current MEDICAL methods in operation, are indeed one more part of the saga of the World Falling Away, walking away, refusing, to follow, believe in the directions given to us in GOD’S WORD, INGNORING IT AND GOING OUR OWN WAYS.
—However; look each day for the joys in all this Rodney, one I saw, was your mother’s sense of humor. What a blessing– and for you to rejoice and encourage her in it, along with all those that come to be a part of this DYING WELL SCENE. I will pray for all these good things to come to all of you. I send this with the Love of the Lord, LaVaye Billings ( with my husband struggling in his chair near me, trying to breath –seriously– and he has never smoked a cigarette! ) Our Hope IS IN HIM–“no more sorrows, no MORE DEATH”– WALK YE IN IT.
