Stunningly beautiful and grossly obscene in one. How many could be lifted out of poverty and disese with the untold millions consumed here in its long history. CBS 60 minutes revealed the architectural mastery of its original designer more than one hundred years ago. At least it isn’t cheesy gaudy like so many catholic structures just breath taking on multiple fronts.
