St. John’s Cathedral, Valetta, Malta

Perhaps one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe, church of many of the Knights Templar, these images show walls that are stone carved by hand.  Amazing.

Thanks Skip,
Amazingly beautiful ornate detail! ……if they only had gotten their theology right with the same detail. O well, really it was not God’s time for them to get that right. No question – the Catholic apostasy was prophetic! But they sure built some awesome churches with jaw dropping artwork!
Thanks for bringing some of it to us

Ester

Such intricate skill and craftsmanship, but sadly focused for the wrong purposes.
They probably thought it was for the right cause too.
These must have taken ages to complete, what patience!
I guess it would have been an opportunity to show forth their marvelous talents, and a great challenge?

Thank you Skip, for sharing them with us. Shalom!

I wonder: would Yeshua feel at home here? Think not …..

Ilze

I agree Kees. I find Him so much easier to listen to when I am sitting in the veld – even when it is winter and dry.

Hi Ilze,

Are you South African? Here in Holland it’s hardly ever dry in winter and there’s only very limited space to sit in a veld / field

Ilze

Yes, Kees, very South African … that happened after my ancestors left Europe via Holland with the compliment of the VOC. 🙂
