After Isaiah

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will [a]rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6  NASB

AFTER ISAIAH

Can any name reveal my heart

And not be stained like me?

At what I thought was emptiness

This one found artistry.

Wonderful

To even dream that I am known

And yet proclaimed one worth this love

Brings joy to worry-worn eyes

And freedom in the falling dove.

Counselor

Exploding every mindless myth

That injured image could conceive,

He resurrects our weary lives

While trumpets sound the jubilee.

The Mighty God

Unless we gain the child’s heart,

Unless we give away our fears,

Unless we put our hand in His,

We cannot know the Father’s tears.

The Everlasting Father

In final measure who are we

To represent the Maker’s seal?

But God Himself has formed in us

The pattern that we will reveal.

The Prince of Peace.

~ For no man can lay another foundation than that which has been laid, which is Yeshua The Messiah. ~ (1 Corinthians 3.11)

~ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone ~ (Psalm 118:22)

“Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness (Ps 29:1-2).”

Ascribe means to apportion; so how does anyone apportion anything to the Creator of the Universe? Is there one thing we can give Him, that He cannot provide for Himself? Yes. Imitation. “Is it, then, possible to adorn God? Yes, by resembling Him; as He is compassionate and gracious, be also compassionate and gracious (Talmud).”

Is this not what Yeshua our Messiah did? “He is the image of the invisible God (Col 1:15).” He is, “the light of the gospel of the glory of Messiah, Who is the image of God (2Co 4:4).” Far more than flattery, imitation brings to bear the image of Immanuel, for which we were first created (Ge 1:27).
