Rosanne’s Roots

Today we traveled to Ciminna, up in the mountains outside Palermo.  This is the place where Rosanne’s great grandfather was born.  When he was only a teenager, he came to America alone, later returning to bring his brothers and sisters.  We found records of this side of Rosanne’s family dating about more than 200 years, but alas, it appears that there are no more living relatives in that direct line here in Sicily.  But we saw the places that he must have walked.  It was thrilling.

Looks so peaceful and quiet! You would think there would be busy people everywhere! Thanks for sharing yours and Roseanne’s journey with us. its fun to see other parts of the world, well sometimes its not so fun but it shows us how blessed we are here and gives us a heart for the rest of the world. I sometimes wonder why Abba put me here and not in other places in other times. But I am so thankful. You two enjoy your time.

What a wonderful opportunity! Just think Roseanne-your heart was already beating in God’s Heart as He breathed life and purpose into these earliest days of your bloodline-all those purposes and all that life now lives in you…I’m certain your time visiting this “full circle” makes Him smile. Have a great, awesome and blessed time!

My grandparents are from Martina Franca, not far from Alberobello or Taranto, in Puglia….region of the Trulli! I have lots of family there still, but sadly don’t get to see them often. I loved the scents of fresh bread, the Adriatic, and farmers burning brush in the countryside. Buon viaggio!

How picturesque, and serene, but Rosanne stands tall too. She’s gorgeous.
Thank you for these pictures! Hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable time.
Shalom!
