Update on Irene

Here is the update on Irene.  While in South Africa I made inquiries about her.  The camp where she used to live was sold by the municipality.  So the population there had to move.  Fortunately, someone donated some land to this group so that they will no longer have to worry about where they live, but they will have to deal with the new location.  That’s the good news.  The not-so-good news is that Irene is now pregnant with her second child and has dropped out of school and is no longer running or training.  I will try my best to keep in touch with her, but at this point it seems that she will remain in the camp indefinitely.

We still have funds in the trust that was set up for her running.  The board will now decide the best way to use those funds.

Irene needs your prayers, no question.  She has a very difficult life before her.

We (School of Creative Arts) continue to pray for her. We have a small donation once again from our children’s own savings. I will be sending to you soon. I pray we will be able to someday connect with her via internet or meet her in person:) Shalom!

Irene, in such circumstances hasn’t much choice, has she?
ABBA, only You can change her situation, perhaps take her out from her surroundings completely to another, where she can be encouraged to walk and bring up her kids in Your ways, Amein!
