WONDER in Africa

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, in 2016 I am planning a biblical study of WONDER at a safari camp in Africa.  This is the perfect place to reflect on YHVH’s wonder displayed in His creation, to examine how wonder guides our lives as believers and followers.  The idea is to take a MAXIMUM of 16 people to a place where we are surrounded by everything He made and as little as possible of what we made.  So we have decided on Davison’s Camp in Zimbabwe.  THE DATES FOR THE SAFARI are February 29 to March 5, 2016.

We will fly from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls on February 29 (why not take advantage of an extra day) and return from the bush on March 5.  But the trip will include a visit with the wonderful people in Centurion, a weekend celebration and teaching, then boarding the plane to Victoria Falls where we will fly to the camp.  So I am planning to be in Johannesburg with all who want to join me on February 25.  Of course, since you can arrange your own transportation, you are free to come earlier to South Africa, or earlier to Victoria Falls if you have never seen it, or stay later after we return from the bush.  Please note that if you decide to go to Victoria Falls earlier, there are often changes with internal flights in Africa.  You would be responsible to be there when the camp transportation plane arrives.  Once we have the group participants settled, I will secure hotel rooms in Centurion for the weekend before we travel to the bush.  The room costs will be in addition to the safari costs and will depend on how soon you arrive before we leave for the safari.

Here is the schedule for now.

ONCE YOU ARE IN SOUTH AFRICA, Fly from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls on South African Airways #040 leaving Johannesburg on 29 Feb 2016 at 10:50 AM, arriving Victoria Falls at 12:35 PM.  We will depart for the camp by air shortly thereafter.  If you want to see Victoria Falls, you must either arrive earlier or stay later.

Return from Victoria Falls on March 5, 2016 on South African Airways #041 at 1:15 PM, arriving Johannesburg at 3 PM.  YOU WILL NEED TO BOOK THESE FLIGHTS (or alternatives) to be in Victoria Falls by 1 PM on 29 February 2016 and return on March 5 (unless you decide to stay longer).

This will be a spectacular trip, filled with the wonder of YHVH and contact with a great community in South Africa.

The total cost of the camp experience, including air FROM Victoria Falls and RETURN by private plane will be approximately $1900-2000 per person, but what is not included is the transport to get to Victoria Falls.

Once we have the small list of people who are going, I will send out information on luggage weight, vaccinations, visas, etc.
