EMERGENCY!

I have just learned that one of the women who was on the Israel tour is in the hospital in Israel.  Valerie Cole and Scott stayed after the tour for a few extra days.  Valerie didn’t feel well and after two days ended up in the emergency room with a burst appendix.  Emergency surgery and now she is recovering in the Israeli hospital.  She will be there for about a week.  Please pray NOW for Valeria and Scott.

Thanks.

Thank You, ABBA for the speedy recovery of Valeria, that she is in good hands in Israel, and all their arrangements for flight and schedule will go smoothly, and she and Scott will be safely back to their home in a week’s time, fully recovered. Amein!
So glad that she didn’t have her appendix on board the flight back.
Toda ABBA for being with them. Your shalom upon Scott. Amein.

YHVH, you brought Val to Israel to have a hospital stay. What on earth for? Ahhh, but you know, don’t you! We praise and thank you for whatever reason that is. Val and Scott are in your hands in your special land. We trust you will nurture and care for them at this painful and stressful time as you always do. They are your children in your care. Even through the pain and confusion and challenges you are there with them. Help them see and know you more closely through this kairos moment. Guide their doctors actions and heal her in your appropriate time.
Thank you for loving and caring for them.

Michael C. Please ID, or you the same Michael that goes all the way back to CA Graduate school with Skip in Philosophy? have a couple of children –now near adults–and walked your Dog regularly? with more than one Michael, I do not know. Pictures were zero in those early years. Anyway, your writing made me wonder what happened to the one that I remembered wrote interesting but “different than the usual”.
———— Now to ALL, out there in the cyber space group, and all the way to Israel. I recall being in Medical Care in Tel Avi in 1963. We were flying home from living in A MUSLIM COUNTRY, and we were staying in a large older hotel with access to the beach just across the road to the Sea. We being: my husband, two children 9 & 7, and a two months old baby girl. The complications were too serious for us to be traveling and seeing the “world”, but –some people do very stupid things. We classified for that. So the hotel owner recommended a Jewish Medical Dr. in a building just across the St. from the hotel, we asked him to make appointment for me, and I was taken there. The office had a large waiting room, and on the wall was a large oil painting of a beautiful farm , house, buildings, rolling hills in Germany. The Nurse came, spoke good English, and during my several times to the office, she informed me of their circumstances. All the family were Germans and Jews, so during Hitler’s coming to power; they were smart enough, and quick enough, and money enough to abandon their farm, and move to Tel Aviv. They learned all had been ruined in the war; and they had never returned to see it, but the picture gave them memories and hope for their lives in Israel. The Dr. himself, was so concerned over me, that he even came to the Hotel, to check on me and my family, and to even see what I was eating, and how I was doing. I HAVE LEARNED THROUGH THE YEARS TO TRULY LABEL THAT DR. AS ONE WITH TLC ! (TENDER, LOVING, CARE),
WHEN I READ THE REQUEST FOR THIS EMR, I KNEW THAT IF ANYONE ANYWHERE COULD GET GOOD MEDICAL HELP IT WOULD BE IN ISRAEL. AS I RECALLED MY TIME THERE AND GAVE THE LORD HIS THANKS ONCE AGAIN FOR CARING FOR ME THROUGH THOSE GOOD JEWISH DR, AND FAMILY ALL THOSE YEARS AGO. JUST AS IT SEEMS MY COUNTRY TODAY MAY BE LEAVING ISRAEL; GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE THEM. THAT WILL BE OUR CURRENT EMERGENCY PRAYER FOR THEM.

Sorry, LaVaye, not the same guy you speak of. Thanks for asking though.
And, just to clarify, is “wrote interesting but “different than the usual”” a nice way to say weird? 😉
If so, I concur. My brain ain’t quite right most of the time, but, I’m sticking with what YHVH gave me! 🙂

Thanks for the reply, no actually it was a time when we had just begun to be able to write reply’s and people were very straight laced in writing. From my own perspective, my first time to write anything on a blog; therefore I was not sure how honest and straightforward I should be in revealing my life or experiences with the Heavenly Father, nor sure where Skip was going with his “devotionals”; but that Michael was just open and blunt and wrote using “quotes, examples not geared to that particular day’s D.D. and his own ideas of life. I really liked his writing, and since that was years ago, he just kinda disappeared as many others have; at least they may read, but just not reply. So your prayer did not translate being him.
I truly did not intend any condescending attitude toward him, or you. I pray that I will never discourage anyone on their search, journey of “seeking with all their hearts, souls, minds, beings” –which is given to us in the Old Covenant, & New Covenant at least three times. Read in several translations, such magnificent words translated in English to guide us to HIM.
Be blessed today. and all remember to pray for those in Mexico, with “the worst hurricane coming into that area today ,.millions need to be removed to higher grounds, but if it continues as it is now, they will loose everything they left. Those that do not leave— terrible predictions for them. Some of us in TX will possible get some rain out of it, we so hope so as we are now in draught area again. L.B.

I feel that prayers were answered and that they are healed. Would love for you to let us know how they were healed.

Thank you, Father, for your love and care of Valerie and Scott. Trusting you, Papa and asking for wellness and recovery.

Good morning from Israel,

I thought this would be the best way to respond to everyone that wrote us. First, thank you all so very much for your encouraging words, prayers and support during this time. I apologize for not updating everyone sooner, but life has felt like a whirlwind the past few days.

Val is doing much better today (Friday morning). Yesterday, she had a lot of pain and pressure which made it difficult to lie down, so she sat up a good portion of the day. She is healing up well, and the antibiotics have kept any infection away. At this time, it looks like she will be discharged on Sunday. If she continues to improve, we will be released to travel home on Thursday. Apparently, the altitude and air pressure change with flying is not good right after surgery.

YHWH answered specific prayers yesterday and this was so kind of Him:

He sent our ER nurse practitioner, Tzlil Mordechay, who was so kind, spoke good English, and had a wonderful smile, to visit Val. It cheered her up greatly, and was a special gift from the Father.

Secondly, the nurses finally understood Val’s digestive issues (diarrhea) and were able to change her diet to more plain and digestible foods.

And third, He sent a kind nurse, named Judy, who spoke good English, and was so kind, compassionate, and helpful.

These might seem small, but they were specific answers, and we are so grateful to YHVH. The nursing staff here in general is not very friendly and a bit rough, so these encounters were like a stream in the desert. Communication has been a big issue at times.

So, thank you all again for lifting us up in prayer. Words cannot express how greatful we are. Tonight, we spend our first Shabbat in Israeli hospital. An early Shabbat Shalom to you all in the states.

Blessings,
Scott

Great to hear, Scott. All our love and prayers to you both. Give Val a good hug (gentle) for me. Tell her I know a good watering hole she can get refreshed at that Yeshua and his talmidim used. I think she’ll know where it is. 😉
We are praying for safe and comfortable travels back home for you as well (Although comfortable air travel for 11 hours is tough even for those not recovering from surgery!) Looking forward to seeing you two again one day soon, somehow. A reunion is always a good thing among Jerusalem Pilgrims, eh? (Channelling our Canadian friend, Tyrone!)
Shalom.

Good morning from Israel,

Great news this Sunday morning in Israel. Val is being discharged from the hospital. Yahoo. We are so relieved and happy. Everything seems to be healing up well and no signs of infection. Another big Yahoo. It has been just over a week since Val got sick, and 4+ days since the surgery. We are both exhausted, especially Val, since she averaged only a few hours of sleep each night. Today, it’s back to the Crowne Plaza, where we will be staying until Thursday morning. Hopefully we can get some good rest there.

We sincerely treasure all of the prayers sent on our behalf, and the kind responses sent to us. We read and were blessed by each one. Thank you so much!

Blessings to all,
Scott and Val

Praise YHWH! I am so glad to hear Val is doing better!

However, and I hope I am not stepping out of line here, but how are you guys doing financially? Obviously, an emergency/unplanned surgery while in a foreign country for a trip has to be expensive! It is expensive even when you are in your home country! Is there anything we can do to help?

Scott Cole

Hello Rick. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and concern. We did buy trip insurance which should cover the medical expenses. The hospital required us to pay for the surgery and hospital expenses upfront with credit card, which I can understand, and surprisingly the cost was not ultra inflated like here in the states. We were not to fly for at least 7 days, so we had some extra hotel and food expense. Hopefully some of this will be covered by our trip insurance. Still waiting on the translation of the medical report from Hebrew to English so we can submit to insurance. I’ll post an update once that gets processed. Financially, we are fine, just waiting to see what will be covered. Thanks again.

We arrived back in Ohio at about midnight on Thursday, and are so happy to be finally home. Valerie is doing well and recovering nicely, and no signs of infection. Praise YHWH!!!

Shalom Scott, HalleluYAH!!! Thank you for this update.

That is great news! So glad you are back home and all is well!
