Return from the Bush
The African safari trip is over. Everyone had a marvelous time, not only seeing animals but also witnessing God’s handiwork in all of creation. We watched the Milky Way light up the sky (with no electric lights). We studied termites and dung beetles. We saw baby zebra and giraffe. We saw lions and cheetah and dozens of wonderful birds. And we prayed together, talked about God’s influence in our lives and shared our experiences.
We are ready to do it all over again. Maybe next year.
Here are a few images I managed to take.
Dear Skip,
I wish to thank you on behalf of myself; Ina and Yolandi
for organizing the trip to the Davison camp in Hwange, Zimbabwe.
Congratulations to your organization and the executing through Mammoth
Safaris and Wilderness safaris. Alastair’s contribution was superb. About
Davison camp one can just confirm that it is five star. The reception and
management by Shane was excellent; the chefs were excellent and all the
staff reflected friendliness and a spontaneous wellcome. Their whole package
ran like clockwork.
The selection of the place for contemplation on one’s relation and
interaction with God cannot be better. From sunrise to sunset; from lion’s
roar and owl’s hoot at night to every animal’s and bird’s presence , the
experience of God’s presence is real. The sense of divine behind everything
brings out the truth of ineffable in such a dramatic way. We had the
wonderful experience of being able to discuss some aspects of God’s word
with some of the staff, which brought tears to their and own eyes. Just
being able to radiate God’s word is such a small way gives one the
encouragement that one is walking in His ways and to continue seeking the
scriptures to be more like it.
For anyone seeking the nearness of God, this is the place to go.
Regards
Gideon du Plessis
Skip, for those of us that couldn’t attend I want to say that your pictures are priceless! Thank you so much for sharing. For a brief moment, the pictures take me there and I can only imagine what actually being there must be like!
Beautiful!
That first picture is out of this world!
Would it be sunrise seeing the trees are still not lit up?
Yes, sunrise. Only lasted a few minutes and only one day.
That’s great photography! Got to be quick to capture the scene, or miss it entirely. Toda!!!
Beautiful Skip. It’s being in the right place and the right with camera ready.
Here are some of our american friends that experienced the safari with a few south africans. David, Dan, Marilyn and Tom, Vivienne and Keith. Many thanks to the young adventurer, Alistair! And to Skip for all the trouble to make this a reality…even to the south africans with their believe in Jewish roots! I must also compliment the staff of Wilderness safaris!
I have family in Chinhoyi. Love Africa.
The international pharmaceutical Bayers firm creates their annual calendars from their staff members personal wildlife clips. Skip this may be a way to generate money. 52 Photos on a Jewish calendar (Torah teaching versus per day) combined with the general scriptural references from the previous years discussed topics…
FROM TOM and MARILYN WALTER (who were there)
