To know wisdom and instruction, to discern the sayings of understanding, Proverbs 1:2 NASB
The sayings – The NASB translation of ‘emer renders the Hebrew with a nod toward oral communication. The ESV uses the stricter “words,” a translation that could easily lead us the think of written material. Of course, Solomon’s proverbs are both, oral instruction and written directions. With this in mind, it is proper to read the following out loud, reminding yourself that these sayings, now committed to writing, are intended to be more than combinations of alphabetic symbols. They are to be engraved on our hearts in order that they shape our actions. So go ahead. Take a moment to read them audibly and listen to them penetrate.

Shabbat shalom Skip and Hag Sameach
I read Jonathon Sacks Radical Then, Radical Now many years ago – around 2006 I think…..it was excellent – he has the gift of writing and tremendous insight? As you mention him often and I just reached for it on my bookshelf I’m going to try and read it again over the next few weeks.
Thanks for the Proverbs sayings – yes truly may they be engraved on our hearts.
Wonderful words of wisdom we need to embrace, to remember daily.
I will have them printed out to be reminded daily.
Shabbat shalom, thank you, Skip.
Thank you for the reminders. I’m gonna print out a copy, too.
Doxology is walking out our theology.
Obeying brings a grateful heart.
