Hurricanes and Travels

Many of you asked about the impact of Irma on our home in Montverde.  I was unable to get home from Singapore because the airports were closed.  Rosanne rode out the storm alone.  She is fine but we did sustain some damage.  Some of it is minor, some not so much.  The cleanup and repairs will take quite awhile.

This is complicated by the fact that on Monday, September 18, both Rosanne and I will travel to Miami in order to catch a flight Tuesday morning to Europe.  We will be gone for about two weeks.  Obviously, whatever we could have accomplished in repairs will be delayed.  So will the possibilities of my responding to comments.  I’ll try, of course, but we will actually be in Russia and I do not expect to have good internet access.

So, hurricanes and travels.  What else is new? 🙂

Be blessed.  God is good.  I’ll be back.

I hope you and Rosanne have a wonderful trip to Russia. It’s a fascinating country. Will you be able to celebrate God’s High Holy Days (with a community of believers) while you are there? I know it’s always a more difficult when traveling. Last year I was disappointed to still be in France for Rosh Hashanah but was able to arrive home in time for Yom Kippur and Sukkot.

Skip, prayers to you and Rosanne for safe travels to and through Russia, and a safe return back to the states. May you be able to restore the storm damage to better than it was before. Shalom

My son Jimmy and family live in Tavares and they had flooding issues…but he didn’t mention wind damage. Same with my daughter and family who live in Lakeland. And of course food loss due to no power for several days. Praying for you and Rosanne as you travel and minister.
