A Birthday Time-Out
Just some basic reminders that are particularly important to me today.
“Prayer is an ontological necessity.”[1]
“Prayer is disclosing or at least preventing irreversible concealing.”[2]
“Prayer is pleading with God to come out of the depths.”[3]
“A soul without prayer is a soul without a home.”[4]
“As my prayers, so is my understanding.”[5]
“The world has forgotten what it means to be human. The gap is widening, the abyss is within the self.”[6]
It’s my birthday today. So I’m going to try to do something relaxing and enjoyable even though I am here in Italy under a kind of lockdown. I’ll let you know what happens.

Happy Birthday, Skip! May your prayers be heard by the Father, and may you see His extravagant answers through tears and laughter. Praise His Name!
Happy days Skip! Enjoy the love from your family and many friends, in Italy and abroad!
We possess life only as deposited in the Word of God, and cannot otherwise retain it than by acknowledging that is was received from Him. (?Calvin?)
A man without light in his understanding “un-mans” himself, thus becoming a mere “beast” or creature, and in his refusal to acknowledge the grace of God defaces the image of God in him. (source not recalled)
Skip, may you enjoy the continual renewal and “refreshening” of His rich blessing in union with God, acknowledging His grace and receiving the abundance of light in His understanding— by which His image shines forth. Many happy returns!
