With Emphasis
Consider the lilies of the field Matthew 6:28a NASB
Consider – Of course, Yeshua didn’t speak these words in Greek, but even in Greek they demand further investigation. Why? Because even in Greek the verb has an added prefix (kata) to give it emphasis. The root verb is manthánō, “to direct one’s mind toward something.” But with kata added, the verb isn’t about “considering” anymore. Now it’s about deeply reflecting on something, examining it very carefully for its full implications. And in this famous verse, the full implications are all about the care and concern of God. Yeshua’s point is really a rabbinic technique. If God cares about these inconsequential things, how much more will He care about you. Well, how much more? Have you deeply reflected on that?
And just in case you need more motivation, consider these weeds!
