The State of the State Update

Well, I’m back in Parma after a quick trip to the USA.  Fortunately, on both Atlantic segments I was able to get empty seats next to me so I could keep my foot elevated during the 10 hours each way.  That was nice and important.  I saw my surgeon today and he said things are improving, but I still have a few weeks of crutches, injections and medication.  No infection but still inflammation.  By the middle of January I should be “walking” without aids although I will be a long way from walking like you.  But I am glad to report the progress.  It is amazing to me to realize how much of my life was affected by just not being able to stand up.

So the update is a good one.  Progress.  Slow.  Now caution not to jump up and get going with the surgical boot removed.  As the doctor said, “Slow is cure.  Fast is back to the operating room.”

Anyway, I hope now that I can sit at the desk I will finally have the mind to write that book I have been struggling with.  I don’t know.  I didn’t think I was a procrastinator until I ran into this project.  It’s not just words on the page.  It’s the confrontation through character development.  It might be a novel but it’s real to me.

By the way, the lectures series on Heschel’s book, God in Search of Man, is done, although not all the lectures have been released.  I might still add some material from other authors that touch on these crucial subjects.  If you’ve been putting off getting started on this study,  you’re missing something good.
