Meaning in Culture

I recently spoke in South Africa about the formation of the Christian Church in the early centuries.

The linguistic foundation of this historical examination is understanding the relationship between meaning and culture.  Words have meaning in the culture that they come from.  Unless we grasp this truth, we will constantly misread all ancient literature including the Bible.
