There is something very beautiful to me about capturing movement with stone such as in these statues. The drape of the cloth, the tension of body parts in relaxed but sustained poses is very much mesmerizing to me. But it begs the question all the more – shouldn’t we avoid idols and perhaps even regretfully, not condone them by sharing?
If you have found in your studies another understanding regarding this, would you share it please? What makes an idol and how is worship defined according to His Word?
I’m not sure these would qualify as idols and they are certainly not worshipped. But I find it fascinating to see how various cultures deal with the issue of death.
