This gentleman knows the old ways. He is about 5 feet tall, wears a coat made from leaves in the forest, fishes with two cormorants. Early morning on the river.
And he is NOT diabetic, obese, have high blood pressure, have problems with his balance, physically weak, stressed out, unhappy with his lot in life, anxious about his investments, concerned about world events, hungry or thirsty. He is one with nature. A part of God’s creation. In my opinion this is the best picture you have ever taken.

Life could be simple — but I don’t think it’s about the place or even the lifestyle.
What is simple (other than a big red button)? Simple is free from guile; free from vanity; humble; lacking in knowledge or expertise about those things God warns us against; unmixed, without secondary complications or agendas; free from elaboration; not divided into branches; not limited or restricted but unconditional; readily understood or performed. Hmmm…..sounds like the instruction from Torah, “it’s not too hard for you”.
Does it matter where we live, or how?
Awesome photo. 🙂

From one photographer to another, GREAT photo!
It’s easy to look at this and see simplicity in his lifestyle. Really, I just see a reflection of what weighs me down. There have been too many times that I’ve tried to just retreat from my life and find “simplicity”.
Jeremiah 6:16 NET
The Lord said to his people: “You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it. If you do, you will find rest for your souls.” But they said…
There’s only one reliable path we’re given to follow. I think that all of us (the fisherman included) have the choice to respond to “follow me.” They’re probably the same choices the fisherman has to make.

Beautiful !

It is not so much the simplicity, but the serenity of it.
When I go fishing, it is the peaceful surroundings that I enjoy most.
And of course the great joy of the catch that comes with it. :- )
