Birthday
Today is my birthday. Â I will be on an airplane flying over the Atlantic from Barcelona to home. Â But I will be thinking about other things in other places. Â So today I am going to give you my birthday gift. Â Choose the one you like.

I’ve always thought that a child’s birthdate should be marked by that child as a day when they give gifts to their mother for ‘birthing’ them into this life. I don’t understand why we get the gifts as the child when we should celebrate our mothers on that day we were born. I know we have “Mothers Day” but that is a community celebration in that I spend a great deal of that day with that special greeting to every mother I see that day. But the day you were born? Your mom set in motion a relationship that is like non other…or should I say, uniquely models a relationship that is Godly.
If my mother was still here with me… I would re-gift one of those beautiful photos of yours Skip, to her on my next birthday.

Richard, I agree, On my birthday I prefer to give gifts to others (the logic being to make sure they would be happy I had been born) But I like really Your point about mother.
On my 21st birthday I presented my mother with roses…for that very reason
